Sage Kashyapa in Indian History

Sage Kashyapa, one of the Saptarishis, is known for his contributions to Ayurveda and as the "father of all species," with a legacy of influencing the evolution of life on Earth.

Kashyapa transformed the land, turning water-covered regions into the prosperous Kashmir Valley through his penance and mystical powers.

Born to Kala and Sage Marichi, he authored significant Ayurvedic texts, including the Kashyapa Samhita, and his hermitage on Meru Hill is believed to have mystical powers.

Kashyapa's descendants span various species, including Devas, Nagas, Yakshas, and Gandharvas. His offspring include Garuda, Aruna, and the Daityas and Adityas clans.

Sage Kashyapa's influence extended to mythological events, including the naming of Earth as "kashyapi" after his involvement in the Ashwamedha Yagya and Parshuram’s victory.
